Enlightenment composers eagerly sought inspiration in the elements of nature, and especially in the contrast between before and after, in the confusing chaos that inevitably evolves into cosmic order. In this season dedicated to Nature in all of her facets, Anima Eterna Brugge goes for Baroque with Jean-Féry Rebel’s Les élémens. Music from Farina’s Capriccio stravagante collection completes the programme. Its suite, full of natural sounds, is a virtuoso feast for the violin.
Hans Van Dyck enlightens us on human instincts and the behaviour of other animals before the performance.
