Ryelandt and Brahms are kindred spirits. The passionate strings and intimate woodwinds make Ryelandt’s Third Symphony sound like a child of Brahms' symphonic work. For their performance of Brahms' impressive First Piano Concerto the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra collaborate with Steven Osborne, Britain's most versatile pianist. A perfect choice. Both the tragedy with which the concerto opens and its warm-blooded vocal lines are very much his cup of tea.
