Makers meet dance fans
During Bits of Dance – the Dance in Bruges spring festival – the emphasis is on the triangular relationship between the maker, the work of art and the audience. We not only present performances, we also invite choreographers and dancers to share their knowledge and expertise on Makers Day. The two-day festival offers a unique combination of thought processes, a preview of work-in-progress and the presentation of new creations by up-and-coming makers. For the audience it is often a surprising insight into artistic practice. For the makers it is a rare opportunity for a direct dialogue with both colleagues and audience.
From this edition onwards, Bits of Dance will also offer a platform to the students of P.A.R.T.S., Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker's dance school. Choreographer Cassiel Gaube, himself a P.A.R.T.S. alumnus, will show an AI-generated choreography together with 40 second-year students.
