Due to its immense success, we are bringing Canto General back!
On May 25, 2025, deChorale presents the renowned yet rarely performed Canto General by Mikis Theodorakis and Pablo Neruda. This unique collaboration between a Greek composer and the celebrated Chilean poet gave birth to this magnificent oratorio in 1973. From its very first performance, it captivated audiences worldwide, and its themes have continued to touch and inspire countless hearts: a denunciation of oppression, an ode to nature, freedom, and peace, and a tribute to the incredible diversity of South America.
The beautiful lyrics, the rhythmic and captivating music, a 120-voice choir, and two outstanding soloists (Linsey Coppens and Thomas Blondelle) guarantee an immersive experience whose power remains undiminished!
