After world cities such as Marseille, Vienna, Marrakech, Cairo and Brussels, Bruges is now the stage for Cent Pas Presque. This participation project by Moroccan choreographer Taoufiq Izeddiou is actually a performance in slow motion. A group of dancers-participants cover a distance of 100 steps in exactly one hour. Musicians create and play a score in crescendo especially for the occasion. The performance also follows that movement: it goes from slow to an exuberant finale, where bystanders are also invited to participate. Bruges' Market Square is the perfect place for this performance: there is a lot of open space, but also a lot of passage from passers-by - strangers who are connected by this project.
