Surprising choreography to hardcore dance beats
DISQUIET investigates disruption and dystopia as inherent elements of hardcore techno subgenres, such as gabber, hardstyle, jungle and drum and bass. Typical of hardcore techno are the intensive bass and drums, the fast beat (minimum 160 bpm) and a rupture of the flow. DISQUIET focuses on those sonic bursts, pauses and disturbances and explores how they can stimulate a body. Hardcore dancing is presented as a possible break with structure and a search for a turbulent elsewhere.
