Echoes & I Imagine

Thanks to his extraordinary versatility and dazzling presence, London-based Aakash Odedra is one of the most promising young dancers on the British dance scene. In Rising renowned choreographers, such as Akram Khan, Russell Maliphant and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, created solos for him. This production was one of the most outstanding dance performances at Cultuurcentrum Brugge, during the 2013-2014 season. With his Indian roots, Odedra is a key figure of the effervescent Indian dance scene. His choreographies range from large-scale classical evenings, to contemporary dance, to opera. Echoes is a dynamic dance performance about our relationship with our ancestors. Kathak icon Aditi Mangaldas – renowned for her groundbreaking innovations - created the choreography. In I Imagine – a collaboration with spoken-word performer Sabrina Mahfouz - Odedra combines choreography with a humorous story about travel and migration.
