For their new dance creation for youngsters between 13 and 21, choreographers Elisabeth Borgermans and Thomas Vantuycom have taken Stravinsky's masterpiece Petrouchka as their source of inspiration. Not the original 1911 staging, but an in-depth study of the music. Stravinsky's craving for contrast, rhythm and momentum was typical of modern man at the beginning of the 1900s, when life both literally and figuratively became electrified.
