Text, music and dance uncover roots

Fampitaha, Fampita, Fampitàna, three Malagasy words that mean comparison, transmission and rivalry. Drawing inspiration from her own personal diaspora, dancer-choreographer Soa Ratsifandrihana tells us in gestures the story she wishes she had been told as a child. The performance combines radio narration, musical composition and choreography. For this work, Ratsifandrihana went back to her Madagascan roots and collected testimonies and stories. Together with guitarist Joël Rabesolo and performers Audrey Merilus and Stanley Ollivier, she now lets us see and hear how different influences can give rise to an incredible explosion of cultures.
