A rediscovery of the relationship between dance and music, body and double bass

Dancer Charlotte Vanden Eynde and double bass player Nicolas Rombouts explore the essence of dance and music. In this intimate choreographic study, the integrity with which the duo use their ‘instruments’ purifies their respective mediums. In Hyphen – not coincidentally, a linguistic device for linking compound words – they bring music and dance together in a way that creates a new concept. They work intuitively, creating spontaneously, but always maintaining full mental control. For Rombouts, playing such music means instant composition. For Vanden Eynde, dancing is thinking.
