Fiddle and Renaissance viol player Anna Danilevskaia (1987) is a born storyteller. As artistic director of the Sollazzo Ensemble, she breathes fresh life into the early repertoire, but also looks beyond the boundaries of time and genre; she feels an increasingly urgent need to dialogue with other art forms, in a playing field of dramaturgy, repertoire and 'mise en espace'. In Bruges, this creative process becomes her main focus. ‘It's wonderful to be able to take the time to test out wild ideas, polish them, or maybe just bin them.’ She writes the first chapter of her Maker story during the Raise your voice festival, where she raises the voice of the jester who spoke the truth.
