Star pianist Martin Helmchen visits Bruges for the second time. This time to showcase the new Steinway in a solo recital. Helmchen’s strengths? Charisma, precision, and graceful virtuosity: pure pleasure for the ears. He is bringing Schumann's Novelletten, the bulky brother of the far better known Kinderszenen. Helmchen has put together an original recital, in which Schumann's cheerful tunes are juxtaposed with music by Schoenberg, Messiaen, Bach and Chopin.
