Thirty years after the premiere of Mozart / Concert Arias at the Avignon Festival, it is now the turn of the dancers of Opera Ballet Vlaanderen to dazzle us with Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker’s invigorating choreography. Declarations of love and the power struggles of lovers alternate virtuosically in ever-new alliances of song and dance. The arias Mozart wrote as independent concert works become mini-operas that display every degree of love, from the coquettish and lascivious to the helpless and bitter.
