In each of us hides a storyteller. From nursery rhymes to epic poems, from horror stories to heroic sagas, our stories give meaning to life. The stories of the world reflect universal values and symbols. Throughout the ages, composers have added their own narrative dimension to these stories, sometimes playful, sometimes very penetrating. On an adventurous concert trail, we travel this evening through time and space. Five performances highlight a choice selection of tales, from the Middle Ages to the present. The performance is in hands of a company as colourful as they are illustrious, including Johannette Zomer and her new Tulipa Consort, master storyteller Marc Lewon and his Ensemble Leones and Canadian multi-talent Victoria Bernáth, who can turn her viola and her voice into a single instrument. Dream away with (un)lucky loves and courageous heroes and discover what makes us human.
