Paul Robbrecht took his inspiration for the ceilings in the Concertgebouw’s highest foyers from the Philips Pavilion in Expo58. Right at the top, an ingenious loudspeaker system plays Edgar Varèse’s sound installation ‘Poème Electronique’. The introductory sound composition is by the Greek architect and composer Iannis Xenakis.
