An iconic dance performance to music by Steve Reich

Set to Steve Reich’s Music for 18 Musicians, Rain (live) is one of Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker’s most vibrant performances. In many ways it is a continuation of the choreographic principles De Keersmaeker touched upon three years earlier in Drumming. The mathematical structures, the persistent repetition, the geometric use of space, the art of continuous variation - everything that gradually became this choreographer’s signature is pushed to the limit. To the pulsating rhythm of Steve Reich's minimalist music - performed live by Ictus! – ten dancers are carried away by an irrepressible collective energy. An energy that interconnects them and forms a vibrant network in which breathing and speed are shared. An energy that reveals the special camaraderie that develops beyond the limits of exhaustion.
