In the 20th century some 500 vertebrate species became extinct. And the end is not yet in sight: life on earth is undergoing a sixth mass extinction, this time caused by human activity. Gabriella Smith wrote a requiem for those extinct animal species, in which she has the Latin names of those animals recited one by one. Roomful of Teeth also sing the overwhelming Partita for 8 Voices, composed by their member Caroline Shaw. This piece won Shaw the Pulitzer Prize for Music, making her the youngest ever recipient.
