Hans Van Dyck is a biologist. As a professor of Behavioural Ecology at the University of Louvain-la-Neuve, he studies multiform life – or biodiversity – and lectures about it animatedly. He wonders who the animal winners and losers are in a landscape that is geared to humans. Butterflies and birds provide him with fascinating but also alarming insights and he is happy to share these with the general public. He is a much appreciated speaker and regularly appears in the media. For the Concertgebouw, he will enter into a dialogue with musicians and poets and link his knowledge to our artistic programme.
