Slagwerk Den Haag take us on an adventurous percussion trail, on which all the ‘instruments’ are made of wood. Our starting point is the primal sounds of nature, such as the unprocessed tree trunk in Staub’s Waldstücke. Gradually, via overtone effects, that sound spectrum expands into sophisticated arrangements and distinct timbres. Finally, six marimbas unite forces and cause a veritable tsunami of resonances.
