In Aldeburgh – where Britten founded the illustrious Aldeburgh Festival of Music and the Arts – Vox Luminis decided to try out that composer’s masterful music. The repertoire fit them like a glove, and the festival immediately asked Vox to record all of Britten’s choral works. Resident artist Vox now present an overview programme brimming with their trademark, the subtle interpretation of the text of age-old songs, plus wonderful poetry by W.H. Auden and even political propaganda.
