Franz Schubert’s Winterreise is arguably the most beautiful song cycle ever written. Following in the footsteps of a rejected young man, this Austrian composer goes in search of himself. Who am I? What is my place in the world? Angelin Preljocaj undertakes this same journey with twelve of the dancers from his fantastic ballet company. It is a contemporary performance, full of colourful and expressive tableaus, to live music. After its successful premiere in La Scala in Milan, this Winterreise will have its Belgian premiere here in Bruges, just before winter falls.
