La Divina Commedia
‘Abandon all hope, ye who enter here!’ That’s the ominous inscription above the gates of hell in La Divina Commedia. That masterpiece, by Dante Alighieri (1265-1321) tells the story of an imaginary journey through the afterlife. In a hundred cantos, Dante travels through the three realms of the dead: Hell (Inferno), Purgatory (Purgatorio), and Paradise (Paradiso). MAfestival 2017 follows in his footsteps, for a musical pilgrimage from Hades to Heaven.
