Freedom
Vive ma liberté, sang Arno – Long live my freedom. But what is freedom? My freedom to do what I want? Does my freedom end where yours begins? Or is it all about our collective freedom to develop and to protect ourselves as a community? Because nothing human is beyond its scope, music reflects all these tensions and conflicts. This summer solemn polyphonists and consonant Corelli are unashamedly adapted. There is also a wealth of improvisation, unprecedented repertoire and young talent. Vive MA liberté!
Programma
New at the MA Festival
MA Academy is a new biennial initiative in collaboration with B'Rock Orchestra, Il Gardellino and Concertgebouw Brugge. It offers young musicians an opportunity to work under the guidance of an inspiring personality from the early music world. Participants are mentored by top coaches from B'Rock Orchestra and Il Gardellino, such as Marcel Ponseele, Jan De Winne, Evgeny Sviridov, Eyal Streett and Rebecca Rosen. The workshop concludes with a concert in Concertgebouw Brugge, scheduled as part of the MA Festival programme.
