Experience a festive cantata in 3D
Bach wrote exquisite cantatas for the court chapel, in Weimar, where the musicians performed on a balcony high above the duke. That chapel, with its unique acoustics, burned down in 1774 and was never rebuilt. Until now that is, all thanks to virtual reality. A shipping container in front of the Concertgebouw's main entrance becomes a veritable 'Himmelsburg'.
How to book your spot
ONLINE
Online bookings should be made at least 12 hours before your visit. Booking can be done via this link, provided by the Thüringer Bachwochen.
- Choose a day and a time slot and book up to three free seats per time slot (only for persons from the age of 12).
- You will receive a booking confirmation by e-mail.
- Please arrive a few minutes before the booked time.
- Enjoy your trip to Bach's time!
AT THE CONTAINER ITSELF
Bookings for a visit the day itself can be made on the spot, at the Himmelsburg container in front of the Concertgebouw entrance. Please keep in mind a possibly limited availability.
