Just as the fates determined that Haydn's Schöpfung would not be resounding in our Concert Hall this autumn, so too did they thwart Ariadne's hopes for the future. In her dreams she is radiant next to her beloved Theseus, but when she wakes up, she finds herself deserted, lonely, desperate. Buckle up for an emotional rollercoaster with Marianne Beate Kielland! Lucas Blondeel sparkles in Haydn's popular Piano Concerto in D major. And the orchestra dazzles us with Haydn’s Surprise Symphony, as his 94th Symphony became popularly known soon after its premiere.
We had all been looking forward to Haydn's masterpiece Die Schöpfung, but sadly the corona pandemic has dashed those plans. Instead, we offer an adapted but equally enjoyable programme during our planned Haydn Masterpiece Week.
