In search of the savoir-faire of Schumann's day
Nowadays, when we listen to recordings made by the students of romantic composers, we can barely believe our ears: gliding tempos, fluttering rhythms, flowing intonation…? Together with Anima Eterna and researcher Kai Köpp, violinist Midori Seiler likes to draw inspiration from that resounding legacy. Clara Wieck-Schumann is an ideal test case: with music she wrote herself, works she premiered and pieces dedicated to her. Clara’s friendship with violin virtuoso Joseph Joachim runs through the programme like an ardent thread.
The schedule for this project is experiencing the aftermath of the corona pandemic and the Flemish Government's subsidy decisions and is therefore postponed to Sunday, October 8, 2023 at 7pm. Ticket holders will be notified personally.
