Romantic imagining with mediaeval inspiration

Anima Eterna and Pablo Heras-Casado’s Bruckner adventure continues with one of Bruckner’s most evocative symphonies, his Fourth. Bruckner dubbed it 'The Romantic' and spoke of castles, knights and courtly love, translated into a magical atmosphere with incomparably poetic parts for woodwinds and brass. Like the Sistine Chapel after restoration, the colours revealed by our resident orchestra sparkle like new, with conductor and musicians constantly inspired by their period instruments and playing practice.
