Sammy Slabbinck presents a comprehensive new series of dynamic collages and prints. Sammy takes fragments of forgotten images from books and magazines from the 1960s and 1970s and sets them in a contemporary context. By manipulating their proportions, he creates new surrealistic images. His talents have been utilised by Disney, Blue Q, The New Yorker, Fast Company Magazine, Museum of Sex, Nescafé, Peugeot, Ford, HP, Knack Magazine, Gucci, Humo, the VRT and many others. Sammy Slabbinck has also designed several record covers, among others, for Nordmann, Intergalactic Lovers, and for Leonard Cohen’s final studio album You want it darker.

The second Concertgebouw exhibition refers to the December Dance Festival, which is staged in Bruges at roughly the same time. The theme of the Ad Noctum exhibition is darkness and obscurity. These have also been a great inspiration to Christian Rizzo, the curator of this year’s December Dance Festival.
