Hervé Niquet shaping the sound of Haydn and Beethoven, who would want to miss that? On the threshold of the 19th century, Haydn and Beethoven swapped aristocratic salons for the modern concert hall. Horns, trumpets and timpani reinforced the orchestra and turned the music into an irresistible whirlwind. The latter can also be said of the playing of Martin Helmchen, a pianist who has built himself a cast-iron reputation in the classical repertoire.
