Der Rosenkavalier has everything we expect from a Viennese opera: a love affair, a glamorous Viennese setting and irresistible waltz music. Strauss’s sprightly dances are flanked by two toppers of the Romantic repertoire: Bruch's wildly popular Violin Concerto and the opulent Slavic sound of Dvořák's Sixth Symphony. Iván Fischer and his Budapest Festival Orchestra are once again sure to conquer all our hearts.
