Baroque Venice turned upside down each year during the weeks-long, unbridled festival of carnival, when rich and poor believed themselves incognito behind their masks. By intimate candlelight, Le Poème Harmonique brings the Venetian carnival to life with mime, humour and music from Claudio Monteverdi to Benedetto Ferrari and the shadowy Il Fasolo.
