‘I’ve always been obsessed with … sex stuff.’ Using her body as an archaeological site, Dana Michel digs for her most intimate childhood memories. After spells in sultry Berlin clubs and sizzling Jamaican dance halls, Michel analyses her cultural roots at a sexual level, examining her identity with uncommon imagination, humour and daring. In 2017 that outsider's gaze was awarded a Silver Lion at the Venice Biennale.
