December Dance 19

December Dance 19 is in the hands of the artist-controlled Needcompany. From the trunk planted by artistic founders Jan Lauwers, Grace Ellen Barkey and Maarten Seghers, its programme branches out in many directions. The festival opens and ends with premieres by Needcompany. Established and new icons of contemporary dance, William Forsythe and Marlene Monteiro Freitas, bring exclusive work to Bruges. And Sung-Im Her and Dana Michel represent a new generation. In between, their contemporary and compatriot Wim Vandekeybus (Ultima Vez) presents the world premiere of Traces.
