Musicians with a variety of sounds, from different musical traditions, engage in a dialogue with Egged On, a 1926 silent-film comedy by Charley Bowers. The ensemble consists of musicians from Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran and Syria, playing together with Western European musicians. They perform an experimental soundtrack, created under the direction of composer Simon Ho and pianist Emma Heijink: pop, jazz and rock are interwoven with oriental ornamentation to create a groundbreaking musical adventure. And after the show, you can all enjoy a delicious oriental buffet, together with newcomers, volunteers and Cinémaximilian family sympathisers. Guaranteed to be a fun family outing!
