With, among others, Aifoon, Ula Sickle, Ralph van Raat & Daan Vandewalle
Composer John Cage left a deep impression on the art of the past fifty years. His continuous questioning of conventions spawned radical concepts. He saw the world as a rich source of sounds that could be integrated into musical compositions. Aifoon take this idea a step further and use sound as a sculptural element. With their Zinderspin we travel from east to west in field recordings, and with their Zwerm 3.0 people create their own physical and spatial sound environments. In adventurous piano literature, pianists Daan Vandewalle and Ralph van Raat also seek out everyday influences. And in Holding Present, in which choreographer Ula Sickle and the Ictus Ensemble search for a new grammar, all previous rules are thrown overboard.
