What is motherhood? And why does someone decide (not) to become a mother? Pianist Djuwa Mroivili shares her perspective on what it is like to be at the cradle, of a child, a project, a work of art, a movement ... She talks about the colonial history that plays a part, but also about queerness and gender, community - it takes a village to raise a child - and activism. Together with cellist Kim Jäger, she brings an ode to the courage and vulnerability required to be a mother. They perform Comorian lullabies from Djuwa's childhood, as well as children's songs from Western classical music, their own compositions and traditional music from other cultures.
