After 28 years Dorothée Munyaneza goes back to her native Rwanda. Umuko is a tree with deep red flowers. It reminds her of her youth. And as a guardian of stories and a healer, it symbolises the link between past and future. Together with five young Rwandan artists, Munyaneza celebrates the creativity, courage and freedom of a new generation that carries forward the memory of the past whilst simultaneously dreaming of the future. In search of love, solidarity and joy, this work combines dance, poetry, music and song with the overall goal of connecting the generations.
