This beautiful meditative Passion shows Buxtehude and the early Baroque at their most intimate and beautiful: raw sonority alongside heavenly joy. The performance of Ensemble Correspondances – synonymous with subtlety – with a leading role for the ever-wonderful mezzo-soprano Lucile Richardot, also promises to be heavenly.
