Electronic music producers go all out for 17th century melodies
Five promising producers go far beyond the lines. John Dowland's masterpiece Lachrimae or Seaven Teares is their starting point, an Artificial Intelligence engine from Musi-co is a stopover along the way, their destination is entirely in their own hands: from melancholy to a resounding promise for the future. Using excerpts of Dowland's work, and coached by an expert in the field, this electronic quintet create a futuristic reflection of Dowland’s original. The whole trip culminates in an event in Concertgebouw Brugge.
