At the centre of the stage there is a big magic box: a huge model of an old theatre. You might call it a ‘dream machine’. When the curtains open, miracles happen. It has to be seen to be believed. Zonzo Compagnie pull out all of the stops to sweep us up into a wonderful dream world, for which Purcell wrote equally wondrous music. A singer and two musicians are the ideal partners to bring out Purcell’s musical colours. They guide us along the mysterious paths of the imagination.
