Thirteen children's dresses, handmade from lifejackets found near Lesbos, the 'graveyard of the Mediterranean'. They hang from the hooks of old weighing scales, above little piles of sand. Each empty dress is a reminder of an absent body, a memorial to one of the 13 million child refugees. The scales, a symbol of justice, refer to the weighing of body and soul. They pose a troubling question: What is the differential value of a Western life, compared to that of a refugee arriving at the border of the Western world?
