An empty schedule, but a head full of dreams. During the mid-pandemic lockdown, American soprano Katharine Dain made a virtue of necessity and created the exhilarating
programme Regards sur l'infini. Its central work is Messiaen's Poèmes pour Mi, a declaration of love to Claire Delbos, his first wife. This is complemented by the music of Delbos herself, Kaija Saariaho and others. Katharine Dains’ and pianist Sam Armstrong's recording of Regards sur l'infini was awarded the Edison Classical Award 2021 for Best Debut.
