Stories tell us something essential about the world and about other people. It is only in a story that facts become meaningful. But if we listen carefully, stories also tell us something about the storytellers and about who stands to gain or lose by the story. Juggling with mythology, songs, personal experiences, humour and doubt raising, Zwerm, Sarah Akbari and Marie Philips give the Middle East a different voice, a voice beyond fairy tales and news items. Lalaei – the Persian word for lullaby – is the story of a story, told with music.
