In Pelléas et Mélisande Debussy finally found the evocative language he had so long wanted to couple with his music. It remained elusive; this fatal love triangle was his only completed opera. In this new production by Opéra de Lille, Daniel Jeanneteau and François-Xavier Roth’s fabulous Siècles penetrate some of the mysteries surrounding Debussy’s enigmatic work. The Concertgebouw takes us on a trip to a dark dream world… and to Lille.
