In 2020 Bruges became Belgium’s first 'Compassionate City'. In September – continuing its commitment – Bruges is holding a festival that focuses on mourning and loss, emotions that also feature in Baroque composer Heinrich Schütz's settings of the Psalms of David. Before that Vox Luminis concert, Season’s Thinker Neske Beks ties in with the festival when she gives a keynote address, in which she examines our fear of loss and our often complicated relationship with grief and tells us an inspiring story.
