Loosely inspired by Hendrik Ibsen’s famous theatrical character Peer Gynt, this film tells the story of a young man from a little village in the Congolese rainforest. Totally caught up in his own imagination, he feels hopelessly alone in a world where nobody, except his mother, believes in his stories about miracles. When Peer Gynt suddenly disappears after his mother’s death, his imaginary world seems to descend on the village. This film is a journey through a world in which reality and imagination are intertwined.
