Attracted by the clarity of Biber’s musical structure, choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker delves into the mystical and geometrical richness of this Austrian Baroque composer’s music. His virtuosic sonatas are a musical translation of the fifteen Sacred Mysteries of the life of the Virgin Mary. Together with a group of dancers, the artistic director of Rosas makes the Mystery or Rosary Sonatas her own and creates a choreographic, spatial and rhythmic form that is also an invitation to dance.
