Urban melting pot in socially committed music theatre
A particularly noteworthy part of All Arias is the city project Uit volle borst (Top of the voice). In each of the festival cities – Antwerp, Bruges and Ghent – residents are responsible for one act of this music theatre project. Together they tell a single, many-voiced story. Artistic direction is in the capable hands of writer/director/actress Maja Westerveld. As a member of the Abattoir Fermé theatre company, she moves effortlessly between artistic disciplines, such as visual art, dance, spoken-word and opera.
