The tours de force of the young Handel
The 'English-German' Handel came of age in Italy. He lived there between 1706 and 1710 and during those five years, fully mastered the Italian style. Lionel Meunier and Vox Luminis rejoice in three brilliant, extrovert psalm settings Handel composed in Rome for the noble Colonna family. As a counterweight to the imposing grandeur of Dixit Dominus, harpsichordist Anthony Romaniuk performs a harpsichord concerto from opus 4 from those same early years.
