Masterpiece by Bruges’s most famous composer

The Adornes family had a particular devotion to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. It was so intense that it inspired them to copy the church in their own iconic Jerusalem Chapel. The Easter theme is also the inspiration for Obrecht's mysterious Missa Graecorum. British ensemble Alamire combine it with motets from the Carver Choirbook, a collection of polyphonic manuscripts from the Scottish royal court, where Anselm Adornes was a guest during the last five years of his life.
